The Local Control Unit

The Central Control Unit (CCU)

The Central Control Unit (CCU) monitors a complete area, displaying any alarm conditions which occur on any of its linked LCUs and enabling quick access to the process chart displays.

The CCU software is loaded on a host computer and operates in a Windows environment. The system may be operated in stand-alone mode or as part of a wider network, including the possibility of further CCU stations elsewhere across the network.  The CCUs can be network linked to Central Monitoring Stations (CMSs) which give management access to all area displays and process data at a click.

Each CCU is able to manage a network of Local Control Units (LCUs) which are themselves used to control and monitor Inspection/Test stations each of which may be running a large number of control charts. Each LCU station indicator can be positioned on the screen display of the area layout with an identifying label.

When a job is started the appropriate drawing number is shown on the station display, which will change to red when an alarm condition is present.

Clicking on the station display will automatically access the progress summary screen for the job and will show relevant data and a distribution display of the current element.

The Progress Summary chart then provides immediate access to the associated control chart display.

Historic data relevant to process performance over time is easily displayed and all reports on alarms can be simply accessed. Any required charts can be printed from the CCUs or CMSs. Capability chart histograms and traditional control charts can be printed on completion of batch testing/manufacture.
